The present study aimed to make a brief analysis of contemporary society from the perspective of psychosocial theories to understand how this society creates meanings, values and designs its own reality. Since work has a central importance in modern life, we analyzed the context of work and the aspects of the experience of it under the logic of capitalism and the logic of solidarity economy, contrasting its elements, values, meanings and practices. Therefore, the study sought to demonstrate the means by which the solidarity economy seeks alternatives, albeit incipient, in some spheres of human life to face the hegemonic model of capitalism; despite the difficulties and contradictions that these initiatives necessarily entail at their core, they seek to be polyphonic, legitimate, plural, inclusive and include in their development the quality of human life quality and the environment.
Keywords: contemporaneity, subjectivity, work, solidarity economy.
