What contributions by Marcuschi can be observed when teachers deal with the oral genre? This concern drives this article, which is committed to analyzing how two teachers working in Young and Adult Education (EJA) plan/experience teaching the job interview genre. In order to achieve the objective, we held a conversation/sharing in a virtual environment, and from the recording, we highlighted extracts of speech that helped us understand, in a qualitative way, the theoretical contributions defended by the author on screen. The results highlighted the presence of Marcuschi, above all, in the understanding that the teachers highlighted in relation to the constitutive elements of the genre, its social function. Furthermore, there is attention when dealing with gender for the particularities of the EJA audience, for the extralinguistic and paralinguistic dimensions that make up the chain of reflection strategies on more formal spheres of oral language use.
