Abstract

Artistic creation is intertwined with concepts such as cutting, emptiness and light that finally crystallise in memory as a concept of resistance in the face of the passage of time. Emphasising the importance of memory as artistic substance. This work, developed on the basis of a qualitative methodology, aims to explore the integration, understanding and projection towards the future of the architectural work through memory, in its eagerness to blur the boundaries with art. Thus, architects such as Sverre Fehn, Peter Zumthor or Bernard Tschumi have explored the confrontation between the idea, the pre-existences and their functionality, highlighting the need for a transversal concept in architecture not as an acceptance of the past, but as a juxtaposition that places value on memory. The analysis carried out highlights this creative need used in art and architecture, where cut, emptiness and light are linked in an emotional echo to memory as a concept of resistance to the passing of time, revealing a continuous search for identity and reconciliation, projecting the work into the future while preserving its past in our memory.
