Historic aspects of management of Arroio Pampa on hidrographic basin of Rio dos Sinos

The interactions between human society or anthropic aspect, with the physical and biological resources, has been marked by simplifications and a major arrogant vision and that the human society can do anything with the physical and biological means. This paper presents the development of the interaction between a wealth of small surface water, called Arroio Pampa, in the city of Novo Hamburgo with the processes of human development. The presence of human society brings environmental impacts relevant to the course of water, with high organic load of pollution, resulting from domestic sewage and industrial pollution, because the body of water is recipient of treated industrial effluent and untreated. The presence of the water abstraction of Novo Hamburgo downstream of Arroio Pampa confluence with the Rio dos Sinos and the blind tendency to use all areas of the flood plains of waterways are discussed within a historical development of Arroio Pampa.
