Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the polemical thesis of Mandeville – private vices, public benefit – enhancing its connection with the luxury and the theory of the passions of the author. For this purposed we will read the poem The Grambling Hive and some of the Remarks that are part of The Fable of the Bees.
