The importance of the discourse analysis in the understanding of statements

Abstract

The various texts that circulate in society do not always allow us to overcome their linguistic limits and to analyze them thoroughly. Some of them become unclear as they require that we have a more specific kind of knowledge such knowledge about the world, encyclopedic or general knowledge. Discourse Analysis not only provides us with efficient theoretical methods to analyze any kind of speech but also helps us to go beyond the first superficial reading of a text. Therefore, the aim of this article is to showing the importance of Discourse Analyzes for the understanding of enunciations of any length or of any textual genre. In order to exemplify what is meant, the article discusses two kinds of speeches, viz. an advertisement text and its scenography and a poem, as well as theirethos, faces and sponsor. It also makes certain distinctions between text and speech before beginning the analysis.
