Freedom in Habermas and Kant
Keywords:
Freedom, Bioethics, Beneficence duty, EugenicsAbstract
This work reconstructs, analyzes and contrasts the conception of freedom developed by Habermas in his writings on bioethics with the view of freedom in Kant's work. Furthermore, although Habermas is an heir of Kantian thinking (at least this is how he calls himself), it is possible find similarities and differences between Habermas' normative position in Die Zukunft der menschlichen Natur and Kant's position in the Grundlegung and theMetaphysik der Sitten.
