The problem of feasibility of the legitimate state in Rousseau’s Social Contract
Keywords:
Rousseau, State, Social Contract, LegislatorAbstract
The paper discusses how Rousseau solves the issue of the feasibility of the legitimate state, specifically in his work The Social Contract. It seeks to understand how he establishes the foundation of political power, showing the need for the state, and how his response relates to political reality. Thus, the paper discusses Rousseau’s political project from the point of view of the conditions of possibility for its implementation and, obviously, according to the elements that the author provides in the aforementioned work, showing that the design of a Social Contract is not a chimerical ideal.Downloads
