Abstract

The study of a set of references of Albert Camus, in 1946, among the French depuration and the revolutionary hopes typical of his time, allow us to display the ultimate repercussion of his multi-expressive philosophy, i.e., a lucid ethical and political commitment regarding the preservation of the affective life in its radical fragility, as an assumed commitment facing the demands endorsed by the doctrines and philosophies of order, efficacy, progress, or indifference towards history. Finally, one will be able to evaluate the hamanist rigorism of the conception of Albert Camus’ intellectual commitment – the thinker needs, “embarked on his time”, to “testify” against “the pest” of indifference.
