This paper aims to identify the locus of Habermas’s theory of communicative reason in Critical Theory’s inside. In other words, it is about showing the general traits of Habermas’s theoretical model and the reasons to why such theory shows as a criticism at stricto sensu. The bibliography focus is find in Theory of communicative action (1981) work. The first section, however, talks about the Horkhemer’s text: Traditional Theory and Critical Theory (1937). From this Horkheimer’s text it is possible to establish fundamental traits of Critical Theory and thus to use such aspects as analytical parameters. In a second moment, we will approach to Habermas clarifying their disruption with the tradition of conscience’s philosophy, analysis who has as conducting wire the “reification” concept. The third section has the intention to better clarify what Habermas understand as “reconstructivism”, and the modifications that this method underwent throughout the evolution of author’s thought. We conclude synthetizing the way from the Habermas’s separation of the materialist philosophy of history, marxist matrix, and their rupture with the conscience’s philosophy, solipsistic as a rule, founding a intersubjective paradigm based on the communicative reason.
