The development of the creative economy in Brazil: A perspective through the Brazilian film industry

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the current situation of the creative economy in Brazil, with the focus on national film industry. Thus, it seeks to understand how the industry behaves in Brazil, historical and Brazilian films as potential as an economic product. To perform this analysis, the study verified the available literature on the subject and the statistic data generated by the institutions involved in the sector of the creative economy and the Brazilian film industry. This work is an attempt to reflect on the industry’s behavior and point out some ways that the industry can follow.
