The social conflict in the Folha de S. Paulo – the meanings of “quarrel” in the column Gilberto Dimenstein

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to interpret, under the theoretical perspective of the discourse analysis, the term “quarrel” in the article “Teachers give lessons of mayhem”, published by columnist Gilberto Dimenstein in the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper. The teacher´s symbolic representation and their negative speeches by journalist was related to a disqualification statement of the class, determined by a unique neoliberal perspective  to  perfomance  individual of the teachers.
