This article analyzes how social media has emerged as strategic tools capable of transforming the dynamics of international relations, encompassing negotiations between states, between state and non-state actors, and in multilateral conflict contexts. These platforms, characterized by their scalability and low cost, have enhanced transparency and accessibility in diplomatic communication, reshaping traditional practices that were rigidly structured. This qualitative research explored concrete examples to assess the benefits and challenges of digital diplomacy. The results demonstrate that social media democratizes access to international dialogue and fosters greater global engagement, standing out as important channels for direct and agile communication. However, digital diplomacy faces significant obstacles, such as misinformation, vulnerability to digital exclusion, and cybersecurity risks. The study concludes that while social media increases the reach and efficiency of diplomacy, their effectiveness depends on integration with traditional practices and robust strategies to mitigate the challenges posed by the digital environment. This research contributes to understanding the ongoing transformations in international relations and offers insights for improving digital governance in the diplomatic context.
