The Foreign Market of Rio Grande do Sul and the Trade Flow with Argentina
Abstract
This article evaluates how the economic crisis in Argentina influenced the level of activity in Rio Grande do Sul, especially during 2001 and 2002. The impact of the recession in the neighboring country was softened by the positive international scenario, which contributed to the increase of the commercial exchange with other countries. Because of that, the consequences of the Argentinean crisis were less serious than what had been expected.
Key words: Argentina, trade, Rio Grande do Sul.
