Abstract

Since the financial collapse in 2008, the G20 has organized different summits with the aim of establishing solutions to the global economic and financial crisis, supporting international cooperation and introducing necessary reforms in the world financial system to restore economy growth. These meetings have been well qualified by the participating political figures as well as the media. The optimism seemed to be the same in the equity markets. This paper aims to propose a critical review of the determinations made at these summits, analyzing the documents produced from a theoretical approach to assess if it has made a correct diagnosis of the crisis, if there is a real historical change and if the strategies discussed may provide real solutions to these huge global problems.
