The proposal in this article is to discuss the potential of the use of cartography as a tool interdisciplinary for communication studies and music that has been developed in recent years in Brazil, especially in the urban context. There is a tendency of recent cartography – which has been conducted in the field of Communication (and the Social Sciences) – not only in rejecting the synthesis maps which were frequently developed in modernity, but also to propose the construction of “travel guides” and cognitive maps (like a kind of “archipelagos”).
Keywords: communication, music, cartography, urban space.
