The use and appropriation of social network sites by the journalism has been increasing because these spaces attract new audiences and approach news organizations to their customers. In this scenario, journalistic vehicles need to think of ways to publish content in social networking sites. We consider that the news dynamics on social networking sites is related to the circulation stage – from the form of presentation and content of posts – as well as to the recirculation – from the participatory actions of users. This article aims at proposing a categorization to the circulation from the presentation form (text, hypertext and hypermedia) and analyzing publications of journalistic profiles on Twitter and Facebook, considering the particularities and specificities of these spaces. As a descriptive-analytic study, the research combines qualitative and quantitative techniques. The empirical object consists of posts published in January, 2013, on Twitter and Facebook accounts of the journalistic portal Estadão, about the fire at Kiss Nightclub in the city of Santa Maria, in Rio Grande do Sul. From the analysis of the categories established, it was found that the standard posts forms on Twitter is the hypertext and on Facebook is the hypermedia.
