Autoridades eletivas: o lugar do documentário em meio ao universo audiovisual
Abstract
The present article intends to establish a discussion about the concept of documentary films not based upon a usual truth or fiction dichotomy. By reviewing the history of the genre, it discusses the issue of authority as a key concept for the debates on this particular genre. It also proposes the use of the concept of Formative Discourses as part of the construction of the notion of authority, one that is socially accepted and has been historically built up by the discursive practices.
