The right to memory in the mediatized semiosphere
Abstract
This paper discusses the possibility of constructing differentiated extracts from the collective memory on the basis of peripheral media productions of an affirmative nature. The phenomenon is examined and understood using proposals such as underground memory, semiosis, semiosphere and mediatization of memory. Products such as the documentary, “Falcão, meninos do tráfico” are examples of these new types of memory processing in that they bring, above all, semiotic possibilities to sections of the population that are usually condemned to silence.
Key words: journalism, memory, semiosphere.Downloads
