Between archaisms and imagined modernity: The Northeast of Brazil on the media
Abstract
The article discusses the notions that divide the country in two fragile, but constant, images: one represents the modernity of the south of Brazil and the other, the archaism from the north. This conception perpetuates a binary vision of the country, it also leaves unsolved questions of identity, subjectivity, alterity, and it reveals that some prejudices are still present in the media.
Key words: Northeast, media, identity.Downloads
