In this article, the process of mediatization of rhetoric in contemporary society is analyzed. Fundamentally characterized by the predominance of mediations and interactions based on teleinformation devices that virtualized the physical presence and the embattle, possible by dialog, the mediatized rhetoric tends to center itself on its own discourses technologies and operates as what this study calls the “indicial-force” of plausible. In order to understand the specificity of this reconfiguration, this study refers to rhetoric's original context – the Greek culture – and to one of the most important appropriation of it – in Latin tradition. It analyses the transformations on the rhetoric's basic elements – the orator (ethos), the message (logos) and the auditor (pathos) – in the mediatized society.
Key words: rhetoric, mediatization, contemporary society, ideology, plausible.Downloads
