South American Integration and Communication: The local media participation in the construction of the frontier culture and identity

This article brings reflections about the role that media plays towards the frontier culture and identity constructions, considering the differentiation and approximation regarding Brazilian national frontier spaces with its South American neighbors. Besides analyzing the local communication media, the paper also is based on the local voices, which reveals that the same media becomes a participant in the Latin America integration process and in the symbolic construction of the frontier phenomena and the frontier person.
