Abstract

This paper seeks to investigate the audiovisual project "Etérea" from the analysis of the song's lyrics, the official music video, the mini-documentary developed on the project and the website; as well as the controversies related to the artist's relationship with the LGBTQIA+ community. The theoretical framework supporting the analysis will take into account the concept of performance (FRITH, 1996; GUTMANN, 2021; SOARES, 2013; TAYLOR, 2013; SCHECHNER, 2009) and the centrality that such studies give to the body in the production of meaning of the networked musical audiovisualities. We understand these audiovisualities as a constellation of products that can occupy an important place in the political (and collective) construction of the bodies in alliances. When analyzing such bodies and their presence in musical audiovisualities entangled by the ecosystem of digital platforms (VAN DIJCK, 2013), we will bring to the discussion the idea that such ambiences function as (immaterial) spaces for the political appearance, in the terms of Judith Butler (2018). Our hypothesis is that the controversies involving Criolo and the LGBTQIA+ community, in line with the audiovisual products derived from these events, are useful spaces to reflect on how intersectional performative alliances (CRENSHAW, 1989) can be built and materialized in the complex environment of digital platforms.

Leonam Dalla Vecchia, Universidade Federal Fluminense

Doutorando em Comunicação pela Universidade Federal Fluminense, com ênfase em Estéticas e Tecnologias da Comunicação. Pesquisador do Laboratório de Pesquisa em Culturas e Tecnologias da Comunicação (LabCult/UFF). Coordenador da equipe de tradução da Revista Contracampo (PPGCOM/UFF). Mestre em Comunicação pela Universidade Federal Fluminense e Bacharel em Cinema pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, com Intercâmbio Acadêmico em Motion Pictures pela University of Miami. Atualmente desenvolve pesquisas relacionadas ao universo da Música Pop, Cultura Pop, Fluxos Audiovisuais na Cultura Digital, Indústria Fonográfica, Questões de Raça e Gênero e Estudos da Performance.

Leandro Stoffels, Universidade Federal Fluminense

Mestrando em Comunicação pela Universidade Federal Fluminense. Integrante do Laboratório de Pesquisa em Culturas e Tecnologias da Comunicação (LabCult/UFF) e do Núcleo de Pesquisa e Extensão em Culturas, Gêneros e Sexualidades (NuCuS/UFBA). Bacharel em Comunicação - Habilitação em Produção Cultural pela Universidade Federal da Bahia. Desenvolve pesquisas sobre masculinidades dissidentes, políticas queer, artivismos musicais e videoclipes em plataformas digitais.

Simone Pereira de Sá, Universidade Federal Fluminense

Professora Titular da Universidade Federal Fluminense no curso de Estudos de Mídia e no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação, onde coordena o LabCult – Laboratório de Pesquisa em Culturas e Tecnologias da Comunicação. Foi Visiting Scholar nas Universidades McGill, no Canadá (2008) e King's College, University of London, U.K, (2015/2016). Seus interesses de pesquisa se dirigem prioritariamente para as confluências entre música e cultura digital, com foco nas cenas musicais pop-periféricas do Brasil e as disputas e ativismo de seus fandoms; nas redes sociais; e também nas metodologias para análise da materialidade das plataformas e dos produtos audiovisuais nativos deste ambiente, tais como videoclipes, álbum visuais, entre outros.
