This article argues about the practice of rewatching the mexican telenovelas shown on Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão (SBT). The survey focused on viewers who watched the reruns of “A Usurpadora” (1998) and “Rubi” (2004), transmitted in the years 2016 and 2017. Based on the data collected, the concept of “rewatching” proposed by Mittell (2006) is reviewed, taking into account the particularities of the object of study and the public. We identified five new forms of rewatching associated with the viewers studied, thus contributing to a complexification of this concept when used in different sociocultural contexts.
