This article aims to reflect on representations of student’s struggles in three Brazilian documentaries: Espero tua (re)volta (2019), Escolas em luta (2017) e Lute como uma menina (2016). These movies portray experiences held in 2015, during public schools’ occupations in São Paulo, one of the most significant political events in our recent history. Highlighting formal and content aspects of the films chosen for analysis, this paper reveals articulations between communication and education fields in this context. We bespeak political uses of representative efforts in the struggle for more democratic and popular pedagogical horizons.
