The Multiple Imaginary Faces of the Political
Resumen
The political sphere can no longer be reduced to the traditional references of understanding, such as the people, society, the government, the nation, to the representations, not even to rational norms linked to one single contractual model of the institutions. The imagery of the political sphere that is revealed both as substantial, creative, and parasitic must be understood in its anthropological complexity as linked to several other dimensions. This article discusses some hypotheses that make it possible to better understand the dimension and extension of the political facts, revealing irreducible and indispensable components, which are the so-called non-rational components, such as images, symbols and myths as mediators of the forms and functions that constitute the phenomenon of politics.
