Distance learning: a device of mediatized formation and communication. An approach to the processes of mediatization and mediation
Abstract
This article presents a definition of mediation and mediatization in the distance techno-pedagogical environments. It analyses the history of the formation of these two concepts and proposes a new perspective to distinguish and articulate between them. It intents to reserve the term mediatization for the process of engineering formation and pedagogical design, while the term mediation for the analysis of the effects of mediated environment from the perspective of action, semiocognitive process, relation, etc. The forms and the processes of mediatization have been developed at the same time of the evolution of the technological environments, especially internet technologies and interactive environments. The forms of mediatization determine those of mediation, and the author distinguishes the sensory-motor mediation, semiocognitve mediation, relation mediation, and technology mediation. Each form is interdependent but complex, and demands an appropriate mastery of the environment.
Key words: mediation, mediatisation, technopedagogical environments, distance formation.Downloads
