Unable hands in writing texts, its consequence to the phonological studies
Abstract
At first, it should be pointed out that a text is considered a document of linguistic facts. Thus, in textual philology, the phoneticgraphematic relation leads to two relative considerations concerning methodological behavior: there is a need for conservative lessons in the editions of manuscript texts and the possibility of such lessons allows one to make a phonological description from the scripta of the texts. These elements from the scripta are the evidence which cannot be forgotten by the philologist. From textual data, the analysis at the phonetic-graphematic levels makes it possible to infer the production of some phonemes, what is only feasible if the edition keeps the spelling of the manuscript. According to the scripta of the document, it is possible to point out the obvious mistakes (or lapsus calami) and the language register variations of the scriptor which will be the ones to be considered in the present analysis. Two examples of texts to the transposition speech/writing are taken. The first one are the texts related to an association of Afro-Bahian community, by the hands of Africans and free creoles, edited by Oliveira (2006), one of the most interesting documents of the scripta of black or miscigenated people were literated in the 1800’s. The second one is taken from the sociolinguistics research material from Dermeval da Hora in the town of Vitória da Conquista (BA). From the excerpts edited by Oliveira (2006), five phenomenas can be pointed. In relation to the excerpts of manuscripts of D. Aureliana, 15 phenomenas can be observed. In summary, it is possible to state that the analysis of the evidence presented by the data of the scripta will be useful to show different paths in the teaching of written Portuguese language mainly in the peripheral communities and for the general population of youngsters and adults.
