Abstract: Instagram, a digital ecosystem, presents an image along with short texts, connected to other virtual territories, and searches for clicks, which shows facts/events/related knowledge. In this ecosystem, the Pesquisa FAPESP magazine, whose images enter the readwriting path articulated with brief verbal texts, offers news about events and scientists or simplifies explanations about scientific phenomena discovered or investigated. Verbal, visual, and technological texts are digitally linked to the printed magazine, whose previous monthly copies can be visited. In this context, this study aims to characterize the digital technological manifestation in the use of verbal-visual language, verifying how this discursive composite produces meaning. To do so, 3 Instagram posts from the Pesquisa FAPESP magazine are qualitatively observed, focusing on the plurisemioticity of the enunciation on Instagram and on technological characteristics, according to studies on Digital Discourse by Paveau (2015, 2016, 2019, 2020) and epistemological topics by Lemos and Di Felice (2014) on information networks. The meaning constructed plastically is verified, in the light of the syncretism of the Plastic Semiotics by Greimas (2008) and Floch (2001). It is possible to affirm that this readwriting can motivate interests and knowledge, as well as it can integrate opportunities for technological, scientific, verbal, and visual literacies.
