Evaluation of the effectiveness of the area of human resources in the operative management of the training activities in the electricity service sector of the State of Lara

Abstract

This article evaluates the effectiveness of the area of human resources in the operative management of the training activities in the Barquisimeto Electrical Energy (ENELBAR) company. This is made by establishing indicators of management in those activities and by seeking information on the organization’s strengths/weaknesses. The methodology that was used in the research consisted of obtaining data by means of visits made to the company, documentary reviews and the application of data collection instruments. The data were analyzed with statistical techniques and comparisons with a theory model were made in order to obtain the results. In the analysis of the collected information the article concludes that the area of human resources of ENELBAR has shortcomings in the training process that render it ineffective to achieve the organization’s goals. These shortcomings must be remedied, so that this area can become a strategic resource for the solution of organizational problems and comply with the new regulations and norms set by legislation for electrical services passed in 1999.
