Museum of Contemporary Art in Niterói: lightness moulded in concrete
Abstract
Faithful to the old drawing board, to reinforced concrete and to concepts of beauty and lightness in architecture, Oscar Niemeyer, one of the most important architects of the 20th century, does not resort to new design technologies or new materials to create his work. In his 60-year long career, Niemeyer still uses apparently simple visual strategies to create lightness. This article points out some of the resources used by him in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Niterói.
Keywords: Oscar Niemeyer, Museum of Contemporary Art in Nitéroi, lightness.Downloads
