The field of history – considerations about specialties in contemporary historiography

Abstract

This article attempts to clarify and discuss some aspects related to the modalities of history, organizing a panoramic view of the various fields in which historical knowledge is presently divided. The aspects discussed and include the most common objects, sources and approaches in each one of these fields. The article’s main reference is the book The Field of History, recently published by the author.
