Some considerations on History, health and homeopathy
Abstract
The medicinal organization, implanted in the 1930´s and 1940´s in Brazil. solidified a view of the medical practice history which excluded any competitor as nonexistent or of little expression. This perspective darkened the knowledge on other practices, such as homeopathy. It only received more attention from the 1980´s on, but it is still not much studied. I present some thoughts about the circumstances, which I faced while raising and dealing with the sources of the research about homeopathy. As a strategy, I have used definitions of typhus, typhoid fever and homeopathy from the 1890’s Pedro Chernoviz popular medicine manual in order to exemplify the theoretical-methodological procedures which I consider very important to the thinking of homeopathy history, but also to any historical research.
Key words: history, health, homeopathy, anachronism.Downloads
