Political violence and rupture in the PRR of São Borja, RS, Brazil
Abstract
This article aims at analyzing the aspects of political history in Rio Grande do Sul, from the perspective of the practices of political violence, especially in the old republic period. The main focus is the ruptures that took place in the Partido Republicano Riograndense – PRR (Republican Party of io Grande do Sul), and the use of violence as a mean to obtain political control of the PRR in the municipality of São Borja.
