This paper aims to present the experience of an elementary school in the final years of the municipal network of São José da Laje-AL, offering online classes during the pandemic period. In times of social distancing, classes in the off-site format have become one of the few alternatives for teaching and learning within public schools in Brazil. With this, new needs and adjustments in teaching work emerged, as schools moved from face-to-face teaching to emergency remote teaching in an abrupt manner, bringing changes in several aspects, especially in what involves teaching/learning and teaching practice. Thus, the question we seek to answer is what teaching methodologies and platforms have teachers from a municipal school in São José da Laje-AL been using at this moment of emergency remote teaching? To answer the question, in addition to the experience report, it was necessary to apply a semi-structured questionnaire to 7 teachers at the school studied, as well as to search for studies that deal with remote teaching. The present work revealed that, despite all the difficulties of the emergency moment, teachers have tried to adapt to new needs.
