This paper aims to investigate the use of PlantNet application as a didactic tool in the teaching of landscape design, addressing experiences of architecture and urban design students. Considering the process of vegetation definition, this work sought to relate the collective construction of a digital database, based on augmented reality, as a structured learning process in real everyday situations. As methodological strategy, the research is classified as action-research with empirical data collection, questionnaires and participant observation. The course of the data treatment resulted of content analysis with data triangulation, which contributed to the synthesis of qualitative information, relating that to the convergences and divergences of the existing literature. As a result, it was observed that vegetation recognition tools allow new forms of teaching and learning process based on cataloging vegetation in general, stimulating students to catalogue vegetation sheets more elaborated, based on the real structure of landscape.
