Architecture and urbanism have a common history thatgoes beyond their own boundaries. Since both of them are related to thecity, it is necessary to assume their political character and their responsibilityfor the historical disappearing of the city. In order to test this hypothesis we will offera brief historical overview of architecture and finish analyzing the figureof Rem Koolhaas, whose work is at the center of the dispute betweenthe death and the defense of the city.
