This text attempts to establish a relationship between architecture and literature from the fields of criticism, history and theory, thinking both their similarities as well as their differences. In this sense, we tried to reflect the scope of criticism in architecture, which, according to the Spanish architect Montaner, should restrict itself to the architectural object. In the opposite direction of thinking narrower, suggested the possibility that it could make criticism of texts that would appear to be far from the field of architecture. Starting from this point, it was thought the literature of the twentieth century as a possibility for the criticism in architecture, expanding its scope and its task. This article does not, however, make a comprehensive survey of this field, which is, admittedly, very broad - its intent is to discuss some issues in the light of relevant theories.
