Computacional simulation of flow of motorized vehicles in traffic area with traffic lights in the city of Caxias do Sul

Abstract


This study refers to computational simulation application and queuing theory indicators in a traffic area of motorized vehicles with traffic lights in the city of Caxias do Sul. This study aimed at analyzing the data of the current situation of the selected site in order to build a simulation model and to be able to calculate the queuing theory indicators. Then, alternative models were simulated aimed at improving the indicators found. The work is justified by the growth of the fleet of vehicles in the city, which led to increased traffic flow. The method was applied from August 2013 to June 2014. At the end of the method, the proposed items in the action plan were fulfilled, allowing the researchers to know the current site conditions through the analysis of data and the alternatives that can be adopted.
